v0.090421.01
Based on user testing, we have changed a few mechanics of the game to attempt to provide a better experience playing the game.
Changelog
General
- Versioning changed to be relative to build date.
- Piston's grow the corrupted area slower.
- Temporarily disabled 'forest died'-lose condition (Since there is no indication at the moment)
Shapeshifting
Humanoid
- Cooldown has been decreased from [10s] to [0s]
Bear Shape
The bear shape has been changed to a 'enrage' ability. It has a longer cooldown, but grants immense power for a limited period of time. Currently this is controlled by a cooldown, but an enrage-meter may be introduced at a later time.
- Swipe's damage has been increased from [10-13] to [22-30], the critical strike chance has been increased from [8%] to [15%]
- Slam's damage has been increased from [45-65] to [75-105], the critical strike chance has been increased from [10%] to [15%]. The cooldown has been decreased from [6s] to [5s]
- Damage mitigation has been increased from [25%] to [30%]
- Duration has been set to [15s]
- Cooldown has been increased from [10s] to [40s]
- We currently have no indication of how long you have left in the enraged state, but it has been added to the todo-list.
Deer Shape
Now functions as the sprint ability from the humanoid shape. You can now activate it through the use of [SHIFT], and will return you to the humanoid shape upon release.
- Cooldown has been reduced from [10s] to [2s]
- Key binding moved from [3] to [Left Shift]
Aiming
After listening to feedback and playtesting, the current form of aim has several issues, of which we have tried to address one at this current stage.
Aiming at moving targets while you yourself are moving (also moving the camera), results in a hard time focusing your aim (Player movement + cursor position + enemy position)
In an attempt to remedy this, we are now slowing down player movement while shooting. This allows the player to take better aim, while also removing the "always hold left mouse button because why not"-aspect of it.
- Currently set to move at 30% speed while aiming to shoot.
Kilderå
- An indication of Kilderå's location and state will now appear on the minimap upon discovery.
- Added visual effect to indicate if it's on cooldown or ready to use.
User Interface
- Moved version number to lower left from lower right (John didn't want you guys to know his name apparently?)
- Key binding-icon for Deer changed to shift icon.
- Added bear duration to tooltip.
Bug Fixes
- Under certain conditions, the AI death would cause an error; should be resolved.
- AI would sometimes refuse to die, maybe it has come to learn it's no longer welcome.
- Fixed the floating corpse of the player if player was moving upon death.
- If the player dies, AI should stop beating Huldra when she's down.
- No longer able to pause after death.
- Minor insignificant tweaks not worth mentioning.
Known bugs
- Sometimes player projectiles gets fired towards the sky or towards oblivion.
Future development
Based on the current changes, the following items have been added to the to-do list.

The Humanoid & Bear abilities can be unified into one toggle-ability.
